Description

In many inner city communities, fresh fruits and vegetables are not readily available to residents – creating what are known as “food deserts.” CCMI’s community garden seeks to act as a corrective to this by providing the space and resources needed for people to grow their own food. CCMI's community garden also acts a classroom educating people on where their food comes from. To this end, the University of Georgia extension campus has partnered with CCMI, using the garden as a classroom for its master gardener class and helping the garden to be as healthy as possible.

Description: Volunteers will be helping with painting and then cleaning up of the garden plots and doing some other garden cleanup as needed for an upcoming pumpkin party outside!
